Journey From Zanskar

Research Question

1. How are the poorer students not able to get the proper education as the more wealthy students are getting? How is this creating a disadvantage for the poorer students to have a potential in their future?

2. In my research I will have to learn what are some of the reasons/examples why the poorer students are not getting the same education as the wealthier students are getting. For example, finding a certain city like D.C. with this problem to focus on my research. Then, learning more on why this is this giving the poorer students a disadvantage for their future, such as finding examples of this.

International Human Rights: Tentative research proposal

1. I am interested in researching something that I can relate to more such as children's rights than elders rights. One topic that interested me was education issues for children.

2. Here is a good basic link that explains some of the children's rights.

Books:
- Savage Inequalities by Jonathan Kozol.
- The Shame of the Nation: The Restoration of Apartheid Schooling in America by Jonathan Kozol.
- There are No Children Here by Alex Kotlowitz.

3. One topic that I don't know how to find a meaningful topic to work from is divorce/marriage rights for adults (more for the different sex marriages). Like maybe child custody rights when divorce happens or something like that. This interests me because I can somewhat relate to it from my parents being divorced.
