1. In the category of community development I was interested in the organization American Red Cross which are volunteers that help people through natural disasters such as tornadoes, floods, storms, fires. I am interested in this because this organization helps people medically as well such as blood donations and I think it is interesting on how much St. Louis really needs this organization since we have a lot of bad storms and tornadoes that goes through the city.
2. This issue on homelessness interested me because I see a lot of homeless people walking the streets of St.Louis a lot. I always see them around the Barns Jewish hospital and Children's hospital. The organization on Gateway Homeless Services would be useful to help my research because this helps to serve homeless and impoverished people, and through productive programing help them to be stable and self-sufficient.
3. This issue is on with people loosing jobs and becoming homeless is causing pets to be abandon. I am interested in this because I was part of a golden retriever rescue organization that get the pets to be adopted to more stabled homes. The organization that would help me on my research is the Animal Protective Association of Missouri which provides pet adoption to responsible owners, shelter to lost and abandon animals, and works to reduce pet overpopulations.
